SASH Radiation Oncology

This veterinary radiation oncology facility adjoining the existing SASH hospital at North Ryde is the first Linear Accelerator facility in NSW built specifically for small animals. Occupying a restricted parcel of land that was previously hardstand carpark, the design incorporates a shielded bunker in the form of 1200mm thick mass concrete poured walls & roof. This structure involved complex and exacting design and engineering as well as meticulous materials testing hold points to ensure the integrity of the radiation shielding.

The building includes a small client waiting room, procedure spaces, day ward and rooftop green space.
