Design Process

in 9 steps

Step 1: Brief and Vision

We start every project with an initial meeting to obtain your brief and overall vision and we work with you to 'workshop' your ideas.

Step 2: Site Measure

We visit the site and take a systematic measure, site photos and notes to create detailed plans of the existing property and surrounding area.

Step 3: Sketch Design

We sketch up some options (2-3) to ensure your vision works in the space and present these to you and make any amendments you may have.

Step 4: Concept Design

Developing up your vision and branding into a conceptual design. This keeps our team on track when making important decisions. This stage may include 3D or 2D rendered models, as well as inspirational images that describe how your project will look and feel.

Step 5: Documentation

This step involves working with you to select furniture items, equipment and all the finishes that will go into your project. Then we can produce the detailed documentation package of drawings, details, joinery, schedules and material palettes needed to tender the project.

This stage also requires the engagement of other consultants such as structural and services engineers or acoustic specialists.

Step 6: Approvals

We prepare a comprehensive set of plans and documents for council submission and approval. We also speak with council on your behalf to ensure they understand the purpose of your project.

Step 7: Tender

Tender the project to trusted building firms and ensure all documented works have been correctly priced. Then we are ready to engage the builder and start onsite.

Step 8: Construction

Site visits and regular meetings to ensure the works are aligned to the documentation package, budget and vision. Problem-solve any latent site conditions and answer any questions that arise from construction.

Step 9: Handover

Site inspections, defect rectification, installation of client equipment and adding the finishing touches like interior styling, planting, artwork, lighting … all ready for you to move in and enjoy.

It really is a team effort & it’s the reason why we only work with the best.
